Short Hair Refresh
@hill_markenson, co-owner of REVERIE here! My whole life I have struggled with my fine hair that gets oily by day 2 or 3, and with short hair, I don’t have the luxury of being able to put it in a pulled back style to work with the oil. I used to be a big dry shampoo user, but over the years I’ve learned tips and tricks that have enabled me to back off the dry shampoo and even extend time between washes, now I’m only washing 1-2x a week. I’m still working to regrow my hair after post-partum and breastfeeding hormonal chaos, so I put extra effort into loving my scalp and nourishing my hair from the inside.
I start my mornings and end my evenings with a thorough brushing with my Koh-I-Noor boar bristle brush for a minute or so. It’s a therapeutic experiment that I honestly look forward to.
Next, I put my hair in place and use copious amounts of Mare Mediterranean Sea Mist which for me acts as a volume spray-slash-dry shampoo. I focus more on the crown because that’s where I need volume and oil absorption most. Once sprayed I use my fingers to give myself another scalp massage and work in the product.
Lastly, I finish with 3 pumps of Milk to polish my ends and add moisture. Milk is suuuuper buildable, so if you need more you can keep adding without worries of looking greasy.
Once Mare has dried I will go back in and fluff my hair with either my hands or my cute little Sanbi 231 pocket brush to break up any stiffness and get major volume.
I owe a shoutout to my love Garrett Markenson for a beautiful cut that truly is a wash-n-go cut. Never underestimate the power of a great haircut - it makes life infinitely easier 🤍
